Custom illustrations for Eat Love Live

Custom brand illustration of a smiling daisy character, designed by Jac Money for Eat Love Live, a Melbourne health practice.

Eat Love Live (ELL) is a dietitian, psychologist and physio practice in Collingwood, founded by Jo Money. Her team takes a non-diet, weight-inclusive approach to health and the whole practice is built on one belief: you’re welcome exactly as you are.

The brief

Jo wanted a set of positive characters for the ELL brand that she could use across her digital and print marketing.

Finding the idea

Jo and I knew we wanted something universal that would fit ELL’s look and values while celebrating bodies of all shapes and sizes.

Flowers were the answer. They come in every colour, shape and size, and no one asks a daisy to look more like a tulip. Jo also loves flowers, so they give her brand a personal story too.

I started with rough sketches, pairing each flower with an affirmation: ‘I am enough’, ‘My body is my own’, ‘My body is a good place to be’.

Drawing the flowers

I turned the sketches into five finished flowers: a camellia, tulip, daisy, gerbera and pansy.

Each one has a small, friendly face and comes in two expressions, eyes open or eyes closed, so Jo has plenty of variety.

For the flowers themselves, I chose colours that complement the ELL palette rather than copying it. That way they sit alongside the brand without competing with it, and they look at home on ELL’s Peony pink, Chicory blue and Petal cream backgrounds.

Bringing them to life

The flowers now appear across ELL’s marketing:

  • Business cards

  • Social media tiles

  • Stickers

They’re also saved in Jo’s Canva brand kit, so her team can use them any time without coming back to me.

Why illustration works for small businesses

Stock photos are easy to find, which is exactly the problem: your competitors can use them too. AI generated images lack authenticity and depth of creativity because an algorithm cannot connect with your brand in the way a human can.

Custom illustration is yours alone. I work within your existing brand, so the drawings feel like they’ve always belonged there, and they give your audience something warm and memorable to recognise you by.
