Eat Love Live (ELL) is a dietitian practice in Collingwood, run by Jo and her team. They do important, careful work, and they wanted a social presence that felt as warm as walking into the clinic. What they didn't have was the time to design every post from scratch.
The answer wasn't a social media manager. It was a set of branded templates that Jo's team can open in Canva, drop their words into and post, without a designer on call.
The brief: two brands, one family
Jo's business has two specific brands. Eat Love Live is for the clinic and talks to people seeking care, plus the people who support them. Eat Love Live: Education (ELL: Education) talks to health professionals for training and supervision. Each needed its own look, while still feeling like part of the same family.
Both brands have their own Instagram accounts for audience engagement, while LinkedIn is a space for ELL: Education more specifically. The templates needed to work for both short-form and long-form copy.
Where we started
We started with the graphics Jo already loved and gave them a refreshed direction, with digital accessibility as a focus.
Real flowers, from Jo's own garden
I photographed flowers from Jo's garden and her local area, so the templates use images no other practice has. They also sit beautifully alongside the flower illustrations I drew for the brand.
I used the new photography, along with some imagery Jo had already collected, to create 16 longform text templates for the clinic. Each one has a heading, sub-heading and body text on a soft panel, so the words stay easy to read over the photo.
For ELL: Education, I used Jo's existing practice photography across 6 long-form templates, to suit that brand's knowledge and training focus.
Seamless carousels, built for phones
I created 3 seamless carousels inspired by ELL's existing colourful shapes, so the design flows from one slide to the next as people swipe. The type sits on a clear scale, with 75pt titles, 55pt sub-headings and 40pt body text, and is aligned left, which makes it easier for people with dyslexia to read.
Affirmations, in shapes and flowers
The carousels sit alongside a set of colourful shape affirmations, for sharing sayings and quotes that suit the ELL brand.
Then there are the flowers. I drew a tulip, camellia, daisy, gerbera and pansy, each with open and closed eyes, so they can feel playful or calm depending on the post. Their lilac, yellow, coral and teal tones sit alongside the brand colours without competing with them, so they're kept for the illustrations only, never for backgrounds or text. All 12 affirmation designs pass WCAG AA colour contrast, whether they carry a flower or a shape.
The outcome
A full toolkit of 38 templates, all built in Canva at 3:4 image specifications and ready to post:
12 affirmation post designs, some with the hand-drawn flowers and some with colourful shapes
16 long-form text posts with flower photography for the clinic
6 long-form text posts with practice photography for ELL: Education
3 seamless, graphic carousels
The words. A bank of body-positive one-liners, written to drop straight into the designs. Jo picked her top 10 for launch, and the bank lives in a simple document she can keep adding to.
The thinking behind it. Templates are only half the job, so I also put together:
Content pillars for each brand and a snapshot of each audience
A light brand voice guide, written to the clinical guardrails
A month of content prompts, so there's always something to post
Keyword research, so the right people can find each post
A calendar template, the best days and times to post, a guide on what to track and a best-practice posting guide
Everything sits in Jo's own Canva account with her brand kit set up, so it's hers to keep.
What the team can do now
Jo's team can now open a template, choose a one-liner or a prompt, add their words and post in minutes, with every post looking like it came from the same place. There are no ongoing fees and no lock-in: the templates, the guides and the brand kit are all theirs.
